The Quality of the Wusthof Classic Knives

Wusthof Classic Knives are widely viewed as the Cadillac of cutlery. The Classic line is forged from a single piece of rust-resistant stainless steel that helps give the knife a long lasting extraordinary sharp edge.  The blade extends through the triple-rivet black handle providing extra strength, durability and balance.  The handle has a full tang to help prevent accidents.   The Classic knife’s PETec Edge provides for their sharpness.

Reviews for Wusthof Classic Knives

In most reviews with professional chefs and cooking enthusiast the Wusthof Classic Knives are the popular choice.  Reviewers state that these knives are sturdy, well balanced and capable of holding a razor-sharp edge for an extended period of use.  They may have a somewhat higher price tag than other well known knives, but their high-performance, more time between sharpening, and life time warranty make them well worth the investment.

A few reviewers with larger hands noted that the handles can be uncomfortable until you get use to them. It was also said that the knives are thick and heavy in the German style and will stand up to the most brutal punishment in a busy kitchen which is a great quality to have for extended slicing and dicing.   Even amateur knife users, who often do such bad things as scraping chopped-up vegetables across the cutting board with the blade (instead of the back of the knife), gave the Wusthof Classic Knives top marks for durability and comfort..

Once you feel the control of the one piece forged steel of the Wusthof Classic Knives, you’ll not ever want to go back to stamped.  One suggestion is to consider investing in a Wusthof Classic Knife Set which gives a better value than purchasing individual knives. The knife sets come in a wide variety of combinations from the basic seven knife version to the full fourteen knife set and several in between.  You can also add to the set as your needs and requirements change.

If you decide to purchase just a few of the Wusthof Classic knives, it is also a good idea to purchase their wood knife block for storage.  This is a handy and functional way to store your knives.  The block will help maintain the knife’s sharper edge and has inherent antibacterial properties.  A quality knife block will last forever and is a handsome way to display your Wusthof Classic Knives.
